This thing was rather interesting. We created a document and shared it with each other and 3 of us were able to edit it at the same time. We could see who was actually writing which part. I could put this to use in the computer lab and have my students edit sentences and paragraphs checking for their understanding of capital letter and punctuation use.
I actually did learn a "thing" or two during this whole process. It was frustrating at times not being allowed to get access to many sites but in the end I feel that I have a greater understanding of what the computer can do for me especially in the classroom. Animoto was fun and I think I would use Delicious the most. I found all sorts of sites that I now have altogether in one place and I can easily share with others. I don't know if I could have figured all of the things out with my limited knowledge of the computer. So... Thanks Mike!

Podcasts Week 9 (Thing 18 & 19)
Ok.. A little frustrating at first.. We could not download the appropriate software to the school computer through Juicer.. big surprise. I used my iTunes account and found some pocasts that way. Here are some examples:
The Dave Ramsey Show (finances)
http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/the-dave-ramsey-show/id77001367
The Cat in the Hat Visits third Grade
Mrs Holderbaum's third grade that made a pod cast of their Cat in the hat Day Celebration.
Discovery Channel
http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/discovery-channel-video-podcasts/id212306676
It is very easy to find podcasts that I could use in my class.

Week 8 Thing 16 and Thing 17 Delicious
My Delicious site is : http://www.delicious.com/jsfrenyea
Love this "thing" Easy to share with others and can pull up your bookmarks from any computer!! So easy to collect many websites for any topic and the tags help you organize it. I'm not always that organized---this thing may help!

Week 7 Things 14 & 15
We are working on making our own video on the frustrations of completing the "Things"
I think this says it all!
Create your own video slideshow at animoto.com.
.
This is an example of a scrapbook we have put together. Not very expensive and the results are great!

This is a site my husband uses to create scrapbooks to send to our family and friends. You can also add video. Smilebox.com.

Week 6 Things 11, 12 & 13
Images
I would probably use Flickr or Photobucket to post pictures for just the families in my classroom to view. They could then down load the pictures and share them with their friends and family. We could take pictures of projects we have been working on or field trips we've gone on. I could also send the pictures to Face Book , my phone or email them.
Liked these "Things"--

Week 4 Thing 7 and 8 wiki
I am not quite sure if I would use a wiki in a second grade classroom. I can see many applications for older students maybe 6th grade and up. I did however find a few ideas that could be useful like making a class scrapbook or collaborating with another classroom on writing a futuristic fairytale. I would really like to see someone actually using one. I'm a visual learner---
